Raychelle Fischer – Resident Assistant – Riley Crossing, Chanhassen
Resident Assistant is just the tip of the ice berg of her service and enrichment approach to life. Wife and mom of seven!, rancher, insurance sales, business consultant, Amazon employment recruiter, fine dining server, restaurant manager, artist, and more. All of this is what Raychelle brings to her residents.
The path to senior living
With the last of her children coming of age and the pandemic stifling restaurant business Raychelle was looking for her next service opportunity. After driving by Riley Crossing repeatedly she finally decided she’d go in and see what it was all about. And yes, they hired her.
Raychelle began housekeeping at Riley in June 2020 and loved it right off the bat. The “it” she loves is the connecting with residents and delivering the comfort and support they need in the adjustment to their new life in community. “I like helping them make the transition.”
Clearly having gotten the bug for serving seniors Raychelle stepped up to become a home health aide in March of 2021. While she delivering care it is clearly a two way street. She popped up with “Here’s what it is!… They are so appreciative, grateful and kind. They make me their family in the process.” When residents first enter the community “it is a joint effort between family and staff and we can help a lot.”
“Raychelle is a light to our residents with her positive attitude and strong work ethic. She constantly goes above and beyond, whether hemming a resident’s pants or learning sign language in her spare time to better communicate. She has the caregiver’s heart our residents so appreciate and deserve!” — Shelley Brady, Director of Sales & Outreach, Riley Crossing Senior Living
