Alternatives to a Nursing Home

So many times we receive calls from families who are looking for a nursing home. This is because that is what has been recommended by a doctor or a social worker.   Health care workers want the best for your loved one.   Yet, I also know that they are not aware of the degree of options that are available today for care.   And they often don’t have time or need to be in alternative settings.   Therefore, they are not aware of alternative options.

Today there are  many continuum of care communities that can provide a very high level of care, including two person transfers, incontinence care, and care for people that have challenging behaviors.   If your loved one is not medically complex there are options outside of skilled care that can care for your loved one.   What is medically complex?  We’d love to explain that to you.
