August can be a full and fun month. A month when we make sure we get our family vacation in if we haven’t taken one yet. It’s a time for outings with friends on rivers and lakes. Time to spend at the cabin before we get back into the routine that September brings. It’s a month of the state fair and other local fairs. It’s a month that you fill up with all you want to get done that you haven’t gotten done this summer.
If you are a gardener, it is a time you start canning and freezing the produce that you grew.
If you like the outdoors and nature, it is getting out for hikes, canoe and kayak rides, bike rides, birding, walking on the beach. A time to collect fireflies and look at the constellations.
It’s also the time to enjoy summer sports teams and get that Twins game in or a trip to Valley Fair. Maybe it’s playing as much golf as possible while the days are longer.
It’s a time to shop for school or college dorm rooms with your kids, grandkids or great grand kids.
Give yourself some grace and don’t worry about letting some chores slide or to-dos going undone. That’s what Labor Day is for 😉
It’s a month that goes by too fast. Enjoy!
