During this time of COVID-19, many people have put off a move to senior living for themselves or for their loved ones. There can be advantages to moving during this time of year. This article is to point out some of these advantages even during this time of a pandemic.
If You Are a Senior Yourself Contemplated a Move to Senior Living

If You Are a Adult Child with a Parent that Needs Care
- If you have been caring for a loved one, it can take a toll. Burn out is real for care givers. Ask your friends how they feel you are doing to get another person’s perspective.
- Isolation is real and takes a toll on everyone but especially our aging relatives. How are they doing with limited contact if they are living alone?
- Are you seeing your loved one daily, are you sure they are ok? In senior living, a daily check is provided.
- There are many many options that are and have been COVID free in senior living. Not all facilities have COVID. Just like when a site is limiting visitors during flu season, sites will enforce new precautions if they have COVID.
Making a Move, Selling the Home
- Rates are still great for home buyers and realtors are saying they have so much more demand than supply. Typically home sales start to fall off this time of year but not this year. You will be able to sell your home during the pandemic! Rates are unknown for the future and will there be as many buyers as there are now if you wait until next year to make a move?
- This time of year gives you an easier time to actually clean out the house and downsize given the weather.
- Resources exist to help make the move and the home sale easier. Choice Connections can connect you with the resources to ease the pain if you just ask.
- If getting the home ready to sell is overwhelming, many of my clients chose to have me connect them to a business/realtor that will buy their home as is. You make the move, take what you want and the person buying the house takes care of the rest.
