Socially Distant Activities in Senior Living
As I talk to past clients and friends in senior living options, I’m impressed how they have been creative in ways to add activities for their residents during the pandemic.
Here are a few that I’m aware of.
- Sing-a-Longs, everyone sits outside their door, a lead singer goes up and down the halls.
- Happy Hour. Drinks and snacks are delivered door to door by staff, sometimes in costume.
- Virtual bingo or door bingo in the hallway.
- Virtual learning opportunities shared in newsletters such as visiting different museums around the world or classes to enroll in.
- Volunteer opportunities, i.e. connecting residents via phone and asking them to find out specific information to build a sense of community.
- Gathering photos and stories to share in public area.
If you have other activities to share, please post a message on my Facebook page for others to see.
