This can be a difficult time of year for many with a history of depression or any type of mental illness. Being in an institution this time of year is difficult on those away from their home and also hard on the family of those individuals. Older adults with dementia and depression can have a difficult time also at this time of year with schedules being different from normal.
To bring a little cheer to those in a hospital or treatment center this holiday season, NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) MN has a gift drive. If you are interested to learn more go
here. A few people will be shopping as part of a Thrivent Action Team on Dec. 14. Gifts will be dropped off at NAMI MN on the 19th. If you would like to be involved in shopping or have a gift that you’d like to be picked up for this gift drive, please call my office 651-261-5379.
